The process of screen printing

The basic principle of clothing screen printing:

Through the unique technology of screen making and the photosensitive exposure characteristics of photosensitive glue, the patterned part of the screen is in an open state while the non-patterned part is in a closed state. During printing, the scraping action of the screen printing glue allows the printing ink to penetrate smoothly through the screen mesh onto the fabric surface, imprinting the design onto the clothing and completing the printing process. Due to market factors, the diversity of fabric colors and types may be affected.

(1) Clothing water-based printing:

Only suitable for white or light-colored cultural shirts or other clothing printing, as long as the printing ink ratio is reasonable, it can achieve a soft touch and high color fastness. However, there are sometimes unavoidable drawbacks. Since the main component of water-based ink is water, which is a colorless transparent liquid, it is difficult to cover dark-colored fabrics, making it challenging to print on dark fabrics.

(2) Clothing paste printing:

Used for darker-colored cultural shirts or other clothing printing. When selecting printing materials, it is recommended to choose high-elastic paste printing to increase the durability and elasticity of the printed areas, preventing the printed pattern from cracking when stretched.

Disadvantages: These printing materials, due to their resin component, do not have the soft touch of water-based printing.

Advantages: Can express any colorful pattern on dark fabrics and achieve a strong three-dimensional effect, especially for printing cartoon patterns with dynamic vitality.

Additional: By adding some foaming materials to the paste and mixing them uniformly, you can achieve a three-dimensional foam effect and imitation velvet snowflake effect.

(3) Clothing heat-cured ink printing:

Heat-cured ink printing uses very fine and elastic materials. The resin particles in this ink are fine, providing good elasticity after printing. The effect is slightly better than paste printing on the market. The color reproducibility is higher, and the texture is softer compared to paste printing. The drawback is that the cost is slightly higher than paste printing, so it is generally only suitable for high-end clothing printing for major brands with high requirements and colorful dot character printing.

Overall advantages of clothing screen printing:

Relatively low plate making costs, simple and convenient printing processes, and can demonstrate its advantage in fast production speed for clothing printing orders with tight schedules and small quantities. This screen printing technology is widely used in areas such as T-shirt printing, cultural shirt printing, advertising shirt printing, etc. Using special pulp materials can also produce: discharge printing, penetration printing, hot stamping, flocking, thick plate printing, silicone printing, and other printing techniques.
